Reconnaissance 2025 brought together students, faculty and industry to bridge classroom learning and real-world civil engineering challenges. The fest promoted interdisciplinary skills, practical problem solving, teamwork and the adoption of advanced engineering tools — preparing participants for careers in infrastructure, design and construction.


Inaugural session — industry insights & leadership

The fest opened with an inspiring inaugural session led by Sh. Rakesh Goyal, Chairperson, RERA-Punjab, who shared practical lessons on balancing dedication and time management. Industry experts Sh. Gaurav Goyal (Managing Director, EVOQ Realtech) and Sh. Mohit Bansal (CEO, GMI Infra) spoke on sectoral challenges and emerging opportunities in real estate and infrastructure. Prof. S.K. Singh (Head, Civil Engineering Department) welcomed participants and praised the organising team led by Dr. Har Amrit Singh Sandhu. The session closed with a vote of thanks from Dr. Arshdeep Singh. Senior faculty members Prof. Shakti Arora and Prof. Sovina Sood also graced the occasion.


Competitions & winners

Reconnaissance 2025 featured practical, judged events that tested design, modelling and construction skills.

  • Dome It — 1st place: Chandigarh University — Himanshu, Priyanshu, Aishwarya, Varinder, Purneet

  • Bridge It — 1st place: Host team — Akashdeep Singh, Jatin Sharma, Abhishek Sharma

  • AutoCAD Challenge — 1st place: Host team — Harikesh, Ishaan Trikha, Mithilesh

  • Energy Efficient Building — 1st place: Host team — Kushagr, Kaushal, Bhaumik Sethi

  • Concrete Frisbee — 1st place: Host team — Anuj, Sukhmeet Jindal, Yogi Bansal, Shivam

(Organisers secured top positions across four events, with Chandigarh University winning the Dome It challenge.)


Valedictory & recognition

The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Sh. Gautam Kumar, Senior Town Planner, who commended participants for their innovation and collaborative spirit before presenting certificates and prizes. Closing remarks and the vote of thanks were delivered by Mr. Rishant Thakur (Secretary, ASCE PEC) and Ms. Palak Sharma (Jt. ASCE PEC), who acknowledged sponsors, volunteers and institutional support and encouraged continued student engagement.
