CISSC 2025 brought together academia, industry and policymakers to translate research into practical, scalable solutions for urban resilience and sustainability. Themes included AI and Computer Science for cities, geospatial technologies for planning and water management, urban mobility, smart construction and disaster resilient infrastructure.


Day-wise summary

Day 1 — Inaugural ceremony, Book of Abstracts & PEC campus visit

The conference opened with a grand inaugural session. Prof. Rajesh K. Bhatia (Patron, CISSC 2025 & Director, PEC) underscored the role of AI and Computer Science in sustainable urban growth. Shri Amit Prothi (DG, CDRI) delivered the chief-guest keynote on building resilient cities. The Book of Abstracts was released and Special Recognition Awards honored Dr. G. L. Sivakumar Bab, Er. S. K. Vij and late Sh. GJS Rosha. Technical sessions covered Smart Construction, Urban Mobility and Geospatial applications for water & wastewater. Delegates concluded Day 1 with a guided visit to the PEC campus and cultural performances by students.

Day 2 — Technical sessions & site experiences

Day 2 featured plenaries and eight focused technical sessions on Disaster Management, Urban Planning, Smart & Sustainable Cities and Innovative Engineering Practices. A plenary by Shri Pradeep Singh (Deputy Surveyor General, Survey of India) highlighted the integration of AI, geospatial science and CS in urban planning. An undergraduate research competition awarded:

  • 1st Prize: Bhuman Pandita & team (BITS Pilani)

  • 2nd Prize: Nida Sadiq & team (University of Kashmir)

  • 3rd Prize: Tanish Jain & team (BITS Pilani)
    The day included recreational visits to scenic Sukna Lake and Elante Mall for delegates.

Day 3 — Plenary, technical wrap-up & valedictory

Prof. Phalguni Mukhopadhyay (University of Victoria, Canada) delivered the Day 3 plenary on advanced engineering practices for smart urban systems. The conference wrapped up with extended technical discussions, the valedictory session, an awards ceremony and a vote of thanks by Dr. Har Amrit Singh Sandhu (President, ASCE IS NR & Organising Chair). Keynotes and closing remarks called for stronger public–private partnerships, policy interventions and academia–industry collaboration.
