The PEC chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers is one of the most active technical societies on the campus, and it shows in the number of awards they keep receiving since its inception. ASCE Headquarters (USA) selected Dr. Har Amrit Singh Sandhu (Asst Prof., PEC) for the Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award and Ms. Nancy Loat (4th Year student, PEC) for the Student Leadership Award respectively for the year 2020. These awards announced, after scrutiny of technical reports of almost 450 international student chapters across the globe. The fact that these awards have been given to only three faculty members and only six students across the globe testifies its importance. Dr. Sandhu has bagged this award in the year 2016 too. The awards acknowledge the efforts put into conduct a multitude of technical activities across the country in the last academic session by this technical society. The mandate of ASCE is to disseminate the technical awareness to the civil engineering fraternity by conducting seminars, conferences, and other activities. Er. GJS Rosha (President) and Dr. Sanjeev Naval (Treasurer) congratulated the ASCE PEC team for these prestigious awards. They motivate other student chapters also to take motivations from the ASCE PEC student chpater.
